Getting started
Download
Jaxx Liberty is available on Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, Linux, and as a Chrome browser extension. Download the app for your platform and launch it to begin.
Create a new wallet
Tap "Create new wallet" to generate a fresh 12-word recovery phrase. Write it down on paper and store it securely. This phrase is the only way to recover your wallet if you lose your device.
Restore a wallet
If you have an existing backup phrase (12 or 24 words), tap "Restore a wallet" and enter your words. Your original addresses and balances will be recovered automatically.
Connect hardware
Connect a Trezor or Ledger device to use hardware signing. Your keys stay in the secure element of the hardware device, and every transaction requires physical confirmation.
Wallet features
Portfolio
The Portfolio screen shows your total balance across all supported cryptocurrencies, with a breakdown by asset. Balances are updated in real time from the blockchain, and price data is displayed in your chosen fiat currency.
Send and receive
To receive funds, select a cryptocurrency and share your address or QR code with the sender. To send funds, enter the recipient's address, the amount, and choose your preferred fee level. Every outgoing transaction requires passkey confirmation before it is signed and broadcast.
Fee selection
Jaxx Liberty gives you full control over transaction fees. Choose from preset levels — Economy, Normal, Priority — or enter a custom fee in satoshis per virtual byte (for Bitcoin) or gwei (for Ethereum). The wallet shows the estimated confirmation time and total fee for each level. Jaxx Liberty itself charges zero service fee.
Supported assets
Jaxx Liberty supports over 90 cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, XRP, Chainlink, Tron, EOS, BNB, USDT, USDC, Zcash, Dash, and many ERC-20 tokens. The full list is available on the Assets section of the homepage.
Security
Jaxx Liberty's security model is built on five principles:
- Keys never leave your device. Private keys are generated and stored locally. No server ever sees them.
- Passkey on every spend. Every outgoing transaction requires biometric or hardware confirmation.
- Hardware signing. Optional Trezor or Ledger integration keeps keys in a tamper-resistant secure element.
- Open source. The full codebase is available under the MIT license for inspection and audit.
- Reproducible builds. Build from source and compare hashes to verify the binary matches the published code.
For the full security documentation, visit the Security page. For audit reports and the bug bounty program, see Audits.
Frequently asked questions
What is Jaxx Liberty?
Jaxx Liberty is a non-custodial, open-source cryptocurrency wallet that supports over 90 digital assets. Your private keys are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to any server. The wallet features hardware signing with Trezor and Ledger, passkeys on every transaction, and reproducible builds.
Is Jaxx Liberty free?
Yes. Jaxx Liberty charges a 0% service fee. You pay only the network fee (miner or validator fee) required by each blockchain to process your transaction.
Which cryptocurrencies does Jaxx Liberty support?
Jaxx Liberty supports over 90 cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Dogecoin (DOGE), XRP, Chainlink (LINK), USDT, USDC, BNB, and many more ERC-20 tokens.
Can I restore my old Jaxx or Jaxx Liberty wallet?
Yes. Jaxx Liberty supports restoring wallets from 12-word and 24-word mnemonic phrases, including backups from Jaxx and Jaxx Liberty. Enter your backup phrase to recover your original addresses and balances. The same BIP-39 and BIP-44 derivation paths are used, so your addresses will be identical.
How does hardware signing work?
Hardware signing keeps your private keys inside a Trezor or Ledger device. Jaxx Liberty prepares the transaction on your phone or computer, sends it to the hardware device for signing, and broadcasts the signed result. The private key never leaves the hardware. For details, see the Hardware Signing page.
Is Jaxx Liberty open source?
Yes. The entire codebase is open source under the MIT license. Anyone can inspect the code, verify the security model, build from source, and contribute improvements. See the Open Source page for more information.
